The steering knuckle is connected by an automotive ball joint that allows turning wheels when you turn the steering wheel. If the steering knuckle wears out, you may see:

  • Uneven wearing among all the tires
  • Squealing noise when making turns
  • Shaking of the steering wheel
  • Feeling that the vehicle is heavier on one side and is pulling instead of going straight
  • More or less self-turning of steering wheels even when driving straight

The above signs can be visible if you pay even a little attention, and it can also save you from huge damages and costs. The average lifespan of a steering knuckle ball joint is about 90,000 kilometers. But it may wear out sooner depending on the roads’ conditions, road splashes, driving skills, etc.
