Propeller Shaft

Also known as a drive shaft or tail shaft, a propeller shaft is a vehicle component that helps power you down the road. When you shift into drive, it's responsible for converting torque and engine rotation into vehicle motion.

There is no specific lifespan of a propeller shaft. It typically lasts about 100,000 kilometers. When the U-joint of your propeller shaft fails to rotate or even rotates too fast, you'll need to have it replaced. A few signs of a propeller shaft gone bad are vibrations, clunking noise, squeaking noise, universal joint movement, turning problems, etc.
