A coolant or antifreeze performs the vital task of keeping the engine and other parts cool. It also lubricates the components it comes in contact with to optimize their performances. The coolant also keeps the water pump, the piston, the cylinder, and the head gasket safe from damages. 

If you continue to drive your car without sufficient coolant, your engine may eventually undergo damages, costing you more expenses. Be careful about the quality and mixture proportion of the coolant you are using. Wrong proportions may damage instead of benefiting the various parts of your car.

To know when your car needs coolant addition, look for:

• Unusually high engine temperatures
• Leaking and puddling of the antifreeze fluid
• Grinding noise from under the car
• Rust particles in the coolant liquid
