The low voltage of the car’s battery is transformed into the required voltage to ignite the fuel and start the engine. An ignition coil carries out this transformation which is also known as the Spark Coil. That is why, if it is worn out or has gone bad, you will face the following issues:

  • Misfiring engine
  • Rough idle
  • Weaker acceleration power
  • Increased fuel costs
  • Backfiring of exhaust

The average lifespan of an ignition coil is about 100,000 kilometers, but it can get damaged prematurely as well. If you face any of the above-listed issues, it is advisable to replace the faulty coil pack only. You do not need to replace the other coil pack as both coils don’t affect each other’s performance.
